DeliNet is a 42-month (October 2021 – February 2025) national project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union under the Action “Investment Plans of Innovation“ in the Region of Central Macedonia of the Operational Programs “ΕΣΠΑ 2014-2020” and “ΕΣΠΑ 2021-2027”.
DeliNet aims at the development, evaluation and promotion of the integrated DeliNet service for same-day, on-demand urban deliveries. To achieve its aims, DeliNet has set the following objectives:
1. Development – Setting up the DeliNet service
1.1. Technical development of the innovative and user-friendly software systems (web-platform, mobile application and website)
1.2. Setting-up the team of people that will handle the operational requirements of the pilot roll-out (drivers, managers, IT and customer support)
2. Evaluation – Test and optimize the service
2.1. The service roll-outs in real-life operations fulfilling actual requests of the citizens of Thessaloniki for order deliveries
2.2. The service is evaluated in tecnhical and operational terms – the service is optimized in regards to its technical requirements, as well as its business model
3. Promotion – Make the service known to the public and prepare for the business operation of DeliNet after project end.
The consortium that implements the DeliNet project consists of the private company VIANOX SVOLOS S.A. (coordinator) and the research insitute Hellenic Institute of Transport of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (HIT/CERTH).
